Three things that limit the damage
2. Relieve a bulging ceiling
A sagging paint bubble is holding water. A small pin-hole at its lowest point drains it into a bucket and prevents the whole ceiling coming down.
3. Photograph everything
Date-stamped photos of the ceiling, the contents and the exterior strengthen your insurance claim considerably.
